One-sixone takes its name from the golden ratio: 1.61803398875, a number known since antiquity. The golden proportion has a close relationship with artistic and natural harmony, to the point that some called it “the divine proportion.” It can be found in the arrangement of seeds in a sunflower, the Parthenon, as well as in the smile of the Mona Lisa. For us, it signifies:
A rectangle is called golden if the ratio of its length to its width is equal to the golden ratio.
Within this rectangle, a square can be drawn, which then reveals a new rectangle whose proportions correspond to the golden ratio.
This operation can be repeated, producing a new golden rectangle each time, and so on. It symbolizes construction and development.
The golden spiral is formed by successive quarter circles inscribed within each square. It symbolizes creation and progression.
